HSMAI’s Sales Leader Forum to Elevate Knowledge and Skills of Sales Leaders

McLean, Virginia, August 11, 2022—HSMAI will welcome sales professionals eager to discuss today’s critical issues and identify solutions at the Sales Leader Forum in Frisco, Texas, on October 20, 2022. This exciting HSMAI Commercial Strategy event advances the hotel sales discipline by elevating the knowledge and skills of off-property sales leaders through the sharing of important trends, critical insights, and best practices.

The Sales Leader Forum is designed for off-property seasoned sellers who want to fuel, update, and/or reinvigorate their career in sales or sales leadership. It is also intended for sales professionals from brands, management companies, and independent hotels and resorts who are leading teams and impacting front-line sellers—from corporate leaders who support on-property teams to regional directors of sales who oversee multiple properties.

“This is a time of remarkable change for the hospitality industry. Sales leaders need to continuously assess and strategically respond to this changing landscape,” said Bob Gilbert, CHME, CHBA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “HSMAI’s Sales Leader Forum is a unique opportunity for hospitality sales leaders to come together for education, networking, and resources they need to succeed in this environment.”

HSMAI’s Sales Leader Forum will feature some of the most influential leaders in the sales industry. The agenda will include strategic conversations and tactical solutions sessions designed to build business acumen to elevate sales. Highlights will include:

  • Hannah Smith, Senior Consultant, STR, Inc., will give a keynote address on “The State of the Industry” where she will discuss STR’s latest views on the economy, the mindset of travelers, and expectations for how and when travel will fully recover.
  • Karen Laos, Founder and CEO, Karen Laos Consulting, will deliver the keynote, “Speak with Influence: Communicating with Impact as a Leader,” where she will provide best practices for stepping up your communication game in the workplace.
  • Chief Commercial Officers will weigh in with recommendations and insights into the most pressing issues of the day.
  • Presentations and discussions about critical issues, including how sales leaders can tackle the challenges of talent (especially retaining), helping sales teams be more effective and efficient, and cross-over with other commercial disciplines.

The Sales Awards Dinner that day will recognize recipients of the HSMAI Americas Hotel Sales Professional of the Year Awards and Educator of the Year Awards. Nominations for both of these prestigious awards programs are now open. HSMAI will also celebrate the Lifetime Achievement in Sales Award honoree, Roger Dow.
